Andorra and Barcelona in March is a perfect combination of winter in a white Andorra with already warm spring in Barcelona. Our group spend a few days in the snowy Pyrenees and in the spring of Barcelona, at the Mediterranean Sea.
Tapas and a welcome drink welcomed our participants in Barcelona and in the evening there was a conference where the sales results and the best sellers were presented.
On the second day, we have visited with our guide the most important monuments, some must-see of Barcelona and off course the beautiful viewpoints, from where you see all the metropolitan city. We have also tasted the Catalan cuisine during our market visit and some very appetizing tapas.
After the lunch at the famous Boulevard Passeig de Gracia, we arrived to Camp Nou – a stadium of one of the best teams in the world, FC Barcelona. After a football match full of emotions there was time to celebrate the victory in the famous Plaza Catalunya. Among chants, screams, applause, and horn sounds, we celebrated with the fans of Barça another one of so many victories of the season.
But after a long exciting day with architecture, art, gastronomy, and sport which makes Barcelona so famous, music and dance could not be missing – we enjoyed a delightful flamenco show accompanied by delicious dinner with dishes from all over Spain. The sounds of guitars, castanets and hitting the heels perfectly reflected the loud atmosphere of Mediterranean Spain. Some of us continued the night in the old town bars or trendy beach clubs.
On the next day, even more attractive activities awaited our group. After a late breakfast, we set off on a catamaran cruise along the Barcelona coast. Then we have tasted some good wine at the winery “bodega”, and we tried fresh fish in the marina of Barcelona.
In the afternoon during Gymkhana we discovered Gaudi’s Barcelona from Gocars. In the evening, among palm trees, there was a farewell to Barcelona - a gala dinner with a great paella with seafood.
The next day in the morning, we left the Catalan capital towards the white Andorra. After check-in in a rustic mountain hotel at the ski slopes, we had the pleasure to taste some Andorran liqueurs while our ski instructor was presenting us the exciting ski plan for next days. Everyone received a ski pass and as a surprise, a massage voucher at the hotel’s SPA.
During next days everyone was enjoying the white ski slopes during beautiful frozen, but sunny days; some of us were improving the ski style and some were checking up the wide offer of bars, terraces, and restaurants on the slopes. But everyone was preparing himself for the last day, the competition of Giant Slalom, to be the best of the group.
In the meantime, every day we could enjoy another activity. Tax free shopping in more than 1500 shops, boutiques and perfumeries in Andorra centre, dinner at a mountain restaurant, where you can get only by groomers machine, snow mobile excursion and heliskiing for the most advanced skiers.
On the eve of the Giant Slalom competition, we had already a foretaste of fierce competition - karting on ice -a lot of adrenalin and fun.
But of course, the highlight of the trip was the Giant Slalom, where we were competed in several categories – so freshly baked skiers also had a chance to showcase their acquired skills. Our level turned out to be much higher than we thought, the winners were given on the podium medals and gifts in the form of bottles of the local liqueur.
After those busy last days, we could enjoy some relax in the hot Thermal Water Center Caldea. The final point of the day was a farewell dinner in a traditional Andorran stone restaurant la Borda, where we were tasting some delicious dishes of the Pyrenean cuisine.
There was time to show pictures and make a summary of this very successful trip. And our group decided that next winter we will come back to Barcelona and Andorra!
